July 4th
City Park is home to the Annual Walter P. Chrysler Car Show! Cars and Trucks of all makes and models will fill the park starting at 9am. Awards for the Top 50, plus special awards for Best Chrysler, Best Original Car, Best Modified Car, Best Original Truck, Best Modified Truck, and Best Paint.

Stop by the Annual Kaw Valley Antique Engine, Truck and Tractor Club Show to see dozens of unique farm equipment from all over the U.S.
Located at the Ball Diamonds
The America 250 version of the Wamego Fireworks Show has been years in the making. Join members of the Pyro Crew in this interactive presentation and Q&A session to get a behind the scenes look at the history of the Pyro Crew and the Boomtown Fireworks show, as well as the cutting edge technology and fireworks special effects that will make this year's show like no other. “Building 250” will be a peek behind the curtain that you will get nowhere else!
You can also enjoy a cocktail from the "Drama Club Bar" at The Columbian" and cool off from 12-5 pm. Stroll through the theatre and discover its 1893 Chicago World’s Fair artifacts and enjoy art by local artists in the Swogger Gallery.

Grab a bite to eat in the Food Court in the heart of Downtown Wamego. The Lincoln Ave Food court will be open from 1-9 pm in the Bittmann Mercantile parking lot across from the historic Columbian Theatre.

The Parking Shuttles are free and open to the public to and from the Wamego Recreation Complex from 4-9 p.m. and will provide return service after the fireworks show is completed at approximately 10:30pm.
Shuttles will make stops at the top of the parade route on Lincoln Ave. from 4 to 6:00pm for those wishing to attend the Parade. This drop-off location is NOT a pick-up location.
Pick-up locations to head back to the Shuttle Parking Lots are at the Recreation Complex only.
There are two FREE Shuttle Parking Lots, the Red Lot is located at Wamego High School Football Field and the Green Lot is located at the Wamego Middle School.
The GREEN LOT offers paved handicapped parking and an ADA accessible shuttle.
*With current construction, enter Middle School Lot via Say Rd.
Join us in Downtown Wamego for the for the annual Wamego Independence Day Parade, the longest running 4th of July Parade in Kansas! The Parade route runs down Lincoln Ave starting at 8th Street and concluding at 4th Street.
Shuttles will make drops between 4-6pm near the top of the parade route to allow shuttle passengers to get off for the parade. This is a drop off area only.

Let Freedom Ring with a FREE pre-fireworks concert featuring the Fort Riley's 1st Infantry Division Rock Band starting at 7:30pm. The 1ID Rock Band will also be playing after the fireworks have concluded.
Make your way to the fireworks viewing area at the Recreation Complex to grab a seat and enjoy the concert. Food Trucks will be onsite for concessions.

Get ready for the BOOM! Voted the #1 Fireworks show in the State of Kansas, and Winner of “BEST SMALL TOWN EVENT” in the State by the Travel Industry Association of Kansas, the Wamego Fireworks show will light the Kansas sky on fire with an epic Fireworks multi-sensory experience. The best viewing is from the grass on the East side of the complex. Get there early and grab your spot!
The show is timed to music, so bring your radio and turn on the soundtrack broadcast on B104.7 FM.
Located at the Rec Complex
Avoid the traffic and check out the post-show entertainment from the First Infantry Division Rock Band! The show runs from 10:35 PM to 11:00 PM.
Insider tip: Relax, enjoy the show, and let the the traffic to thin out a little bit before you leave for an easier ride home!
