    Come dunk your favorite coach, city official or co-worker. Proceeds to benefit Wamego Fire Department and Auxiliary.

    City Park

    Come to City Park for the 48th Annual Walter P. Chrysler Car Show.

    Ball Diamonds

    Stop by the 37th Annual Kaw Valley Antique Engine, Truck and Tractor Club Show to see dozens of unique farm equipment from all over the U.S.

    Wamego City Park Shelter

    Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church will be hosting a free Watermelon Feed at the City Park Shelter on the 4th of July. All are welcome!

    "BOOMTOWN -Behind the Fence"

    The Columbian Theatre

    We had 6 cameras inside the fence during the 2018 Fireworks show to document the show from the Pyro Crew point of view. You've never seen the show like this. Don't miss your chance to see last year's show from "Behind the Fence"  3:00 pm. Enjoy a cocktail from the "Drama Club Bar" at The Columbian"  from 12-7:30 pm. Stroll through the theatre and discover its 1893 Chicago World’s Fair artifacts and enjoy art by local artists in the Swogger Gallery.

    GREEN Parking Shuttle Begins Running

    Wamego Middle School

    The Shuttle is free and open to the public to and from the Wamego Recreation Complex from 4-9 p.m. and will provide return service after the fireworks show.  Shuttles will make stops at the top of the parade route from 4:00 to 6:00pm for those wishing to attend the Parade.  This drop-off location is NOT a pick-up location.  Pick-up locations are at the recreation complex only.

    RED Parking Shuttle Begins Running

    Wamego High School Football Field

    The Shuttle is free and open to the public to and from the Wamego Recreation Complex from 4-9 p.m. and will provide return service after the fireworks show.  Shuttles will make stops at the top of the parade route from 4 to 6:00pm for those wishing to attend the Parade.  This drop-off location is NOT a pick-up location.  Pick-up locations are at the recreation complex only.  

  • 6:00PM to 7:00PM

    Join us on main street (Lincoln Ave from 8th to 4th street) for the 151st annual Wamego Independence Day Parade. This year's Theme is Freedom Still Rings.  Shuttles will make drops between 3 pm and 7 pm at the parade route to allow shuttle passengers to get off for the parade.  This will not be a pick up spot a drop only.

Where is the best place to park?

Free Public Parking is available in marked lots adjacent to the Wamego Recreation Complex and along Balderson Blvd. Side street parking is permitted unless otherwise marked. No parking allowed along shoulders of Highway 24. Remote shuttle parking is located at:

-          Wamego High School Football Field Shuttle Parking-RED SHUTTLE parking (Corner of Highway 24 and Columbian Road)

-          Wamego Middle School Shuttle Parking-GREEN SHUTTLE parking (Physical Address: 1701 Kaw Valley Road, Wamego, KS, 66547)
