Tulip Festival - April 2008
In April at the City Park is the site of the annual Tulip Festival. Widely known for its colorful backdrop of tulips, Wamego is in full bloom for this long standing festival that features hand-craft artisans, entertainment, food and fun for all ages.
Wamego is host to one of the oldest and largest Independence Day celebrations in the state. The festivities begin when the carnival arrives several days before July 4. The celebration features a parade down Lincoln Avenue and a spectacular fireworks display in the City Park. For more information on how to be a part of this celebration, please click here.
The Walter P. Chrysler Antique & Classic Car Show runs in conjunction with the 4th of July Celebration. It features antique and restored cars from the past, as well as today’s more noteworthy vehicles.
Ridiculous Days! - August 2008
Join us for Ridiculous Days! sidewalk sales in August 2008. The Ridiculous Days sidewalk sales promises prices so low they’re ridiculous as well as ridiculous amounts of fun for children and adults alike. More information will be posted in July.
OZtoberFest - October 2008
Celebrating Kansas’ inextricable link to OZ, Wamego becomes the Emerald City each October, welcoming munchkins from the 1939 MGM motion picture, descendants of L. Frank Baum and the staging of “The Wizard of OZ” at The Columbian Theatre. more...
Christmas Parade - November 2008
Every November the community kicks off the holiday season with the arrival of Santa at the annual lighted Christmas Parade. The town and City Park are aglow with lights, tinsel and special displays celebrating this season of peace and joy. Click here for the schedule.
