Built in 1895, this two-story limestone theater once was home to vaudeville. After a $1.8 million renovation in 1994, it is once again a venue for live theater.
Founded while Kansas was deciding whether it would be a free or slave state, this church was formed by settlers and colonists who had moved to the state to influence the decision.
As part of the Freedom’s Frontier National Heritage Area, it represents a significant link to the Bleeding Kansas story, Territorial Kansas and the Underground Railroad.
