Fishing
Anglers will delight in fishing for largemouth bass, bluegill, crappie, walleye, sockeye, and wiper in the surrounding three county lakes, five state parks and numerous public-access fish ponds.
Stay in one of Wamego’s 90 hotel rooms, or rent the house at Victory Farm for a weekend. Most hunting and fishing supplies can be found at Wal-Mart in Manhattan. Live bait is available at Home Video at 1004 Poplar (2 blocks west of Lincoln near Hwy 24) or chicken livers / hotdogs at Dyers IGA on Hwy 24.

Come spend the afternoon at City Park’s two-acre fishing pond – you can fish from the wood pier, grassy banks or even off of the bridge that spans the pond.

Located 34 miles from Wamego on the north end of Tuttle Creek Reservoir, Fancy Creek Park offers excellent channel cat and flathead fishing. Look for bass and crappie near standing timber and brush piles.

Legal residents of more than 60 days, ages 16 – 64, must have a resident fishing license in possession while fishing in Kansas. Nonresidents ages 16 and older must have valid nonresident fishing license. Resident Fishing License: $20.50

Victory Farm
If you’d prefer to not rough it, luxury accommodations for hunting and fishing groups are available at Victory Farm.
Victory Farm offers guests a home away from home in a charming, family-style vacation rental. The house comfortably sleeps up to 10 people, making it perfect as a hunting lodge. It is completely furnished with dishes, linens and has laundry facilities, an in-ground pool, hot tub, gas grill, wireless internet and cable TV.
Rates are based on two night weekend stay: $475 - $650 for the weekend.
