Rocky Ford Fishing Area

Fish from the bank or waterfall.  About 20 miles from Wamego, just outside of Tuttle Creek State Park, the Rocky Ford Fishing area offers free public access. ADA compliant vault toilet.  Look for arrow heads, bald eagles feeding or just set your line up and relax. Kayak and canoe enthusiasts can try their skill during certain water releases from Tuttle Creek Dam, but beware of trespassing – some private property lines in the area extend half way across bodies of water.

Did You Know?

The American Bison – commonly known as the American Buffalo – is not actually a buffalo, as it is only distantly related to the Water Buffalo and African Buffalo. The nickname, “Buffalo,” originated with French fur trappers during the 1600s.
