Whether you’re looking for a primitive campsite surrounded by the woods, a spot of solitude next to a lake, or a place to park your RV, the Wamego area has plenty of options for a back-to-nature experience.

Calvin's RV Camping

Pull up to Wamego’s new RV campground, shaded by native trees and located in a quiet setting just a few blocks from Wamego’s many attractions. Choose from 7 pull through RV sites on concrete pads with full utilities or 4 tent campsites with no utilities. Services include WIFI, vending services, laundry facilities, storm shelter, and fire rings. Calvin’s is a family friendly campground.

Riverside Estates

Riverside Estates is located half a mile away from Lincoln Avenue in the heart of Wamego. Our community is clean and quiet. We are able to accomodate 7 RV's around the year.

Oregon Trail RV Park

The Oregon Trail RV Park is located 15 miles north of Wamego in Westmoreland. Rent by the night, week or month. Sixteen spots with 30 amp hookups are available for $10 per night, $50 per week, and $175 per month. Three spots have 50 amp hookups and are available for $12 per night, $70 per week, and $250 per month. Pitch a tent for $5 per night ($8 with water & electricity access). Bath house is open until temperatures dip below freezing. Self check-in station is located by the bath house.*

Visit the second-largest hand-dug well in the state of Kansas, located next door to the campground.

Pottawatomie State Lake #2

On these 247 acres you can hike the Flint Hills, camp on the west side of the lake, canoe, picnic and fish. Located 14 miles from Wamego.

Directions
Travel west on Hwy 24 – 11 miles
Turn right (going north) on Green Valley Road – 1.5 miles
Take a left on Blue River Road – 1 mile
Follow the State Lake signs, turning right, until you arrive at the lake.

Tuttle Creek State Park

This 1,200 acre park with 12,500 acres of water and 100 miles of rugged, wooded shoreline, has a variety of camping sites, from those with electricity and water, to almost 900 primitive sites.  Seven cabins, with all amenities, are also within the park boundaries. Located 20 miles from Wamego.

Daily vehicle permit: $3.70 - $4.20
Daily camping fee: $7.50 - $8.50
Campsite reservation fee: $10.50
RV camping fees vary depending on length of stay and amount of utilities required

Scenic Route:
Travel west on Hwy 24 – 11 miles
Turn right (going north) on Green Valley Road – 1.5 miles
Take a left on Blue River Road – follow around for 4.5 miles
Turn right (going north) on Dyer Road – 2 miles
Take a left at KS-13 – 1.5 miles
Turn left at River Pond Road – before the big dam, follow until you arrive at park entrance

Pottawatomie State Lake #1

On these 190 acres you can hike the rolling hills, watch for wintering Bald Eagles, camp around the lake, picnic on a table or the grass, catch a crappie from one of seven fishing piers, or bag a deer. Located 20 miles from Wamego.

Travel north on Lincoln Ave / KS 99 – 19.5 miles
Lake entrance will be on your left.

Randolph State Park

This area, 32 miles from Wamego, offers 20 electric sites and 50 primitive sites for camping, and a 13-mile equestrian trail that traverses a variety of terrains and views of the Flint Hills.

Travel north on Lincoln Avenue / KS 99 – 14.2 miles.
Turn left (going west) on State Street in Westmoreland – 1 mile.
Turn right on Westmoreland Road – ½ mile.
Turn left (going west) on Westmoreland Road – 6 miles.
Take a right (going north) on KS-13 – ½ mile. Turn left on KS-16 – 10 miles.
Turn left on Randolph Park Road

Fancy Creek Park

Camping is available with 24 electric sites, 200 primitive sites with lots of shade and lakeside views. Located 34 miles from Wamego.

Turn left (going west) on State Street in Westmoreland – 1 mile
Turn right on Westmoreland Road – ½ mile
Turn left (going west) on Westmoreland Road – 6 miles
Take a right (going north) on KS-13 – ½ mile
Turn left on KS-16 – 11.5 miles
Fancy Creek State park is on your right after the bridge
